Group Project

Doing the group project this week was fun because it was different from our regular class setting, everyone got along, and we worked fast and efficiently to do the best job that we could. The Colon was our subject and we found that it is used everyday whether it be in language and grammar or in bible verses or ratios in math. It was a good experience that I had a lot of fun with and I hope that we get to do a lot of the same types of stuff the entire semester.

Did You Know?

I am writing my blog for the week on the YouTube video Did You Know? we were supposed to watch for thursdays class. The video was really cool I thought it was a really good way to get their point they were trying to make across that the world is growing so rapidly and that we need to step it up so we are ready for the twenty first century. Most of the facts were really hard to believe, but they all makes sense the video just brought them into light. That was a great example of something that we have been learning about in class too. The multimedia used in this video is a good example of how we could approach our literacy narrative. Overall my view on the video was a good one i thought it showed some really good points and at the same time used some really good multimedia examples for us to look at for our upcoming projects. The name of the company that made the video is called Xplane The Visual Thinking Company. They make videos and publications to make things simple and get messages across to people through visual techniques like the same multimedia we will work with for our projects.

Rough Start

For my first blog of the semester I would like to talk about the reading for the last class. The Shitty First Drafts really was a good piece of reading for us because it helped us see where some of the better writers have to come from when they decide to sit down and write or what it looked like when they first get started. I learned from the reading that writing something isn't always going to just come easy to me you have to work at getting the right technique or you will not get very far. Also, don't be afraid to mess up everyone does it including the writers that get paid to write everyday and all the great authors. Shitty First Drafts also just went through ways that you can get yourself ready to write and how to keep your mind clear to thoughts that will help you along the road, and also to just keep building on your writing. Write everyday to improve and proofread everything you do and if you do these steps over and over again and truly work on your writing you have a chance to be a talented successful writer.
